Research Description This research will provide scientific evidence on the health benefits of the Philippine indigenous berries. This is intrinsic to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goal of ensuring healthy lives and promote the wellbeing of the people by prevention and management of obesity and associated metabolic disorders thru the use of Philippine indigenous crops.

Research Accoplishments [CY 2018] 1. Products - toxic doses; safe levels and recommended intakes of Philippine indigenous berries (bignay and lipote) thru dose tranlation from animal to human; 2. Publications - presentations in local (2) and international conferences (1); at least 2 IS/SCOPUS journal articles 3. People - mentored MS and PhD studetns 4. Places - set-up MICE laboratory 3.
